Hi Can’t open the above file that I captured on a freelance job in Final Cut 5. I am on Final Cut 4 and really don’t need to upgrade. I need to just open the file/convert to animation codec to work with it in After Effects. Can anyone recommend a way of doing this, preferably at no cost! THANKS!

    If it’s a HDcodec I don’t think FCP4.0 can open it… I haven’t tried it. Can u open it with a quick-time player?

If you could investigate what kind of codec is used to export your media, maybe you could install it on you mac and get it working with QT that way.

    Look at https://www.blackmagic-design.com/support/software/

They have a HD codec for OS X 10.4 and compatible with QT 7.0.2

here is the link for the download
    https://www.blackmagic-design.com/support/software/register.asp?softID=54

But if your media is exported with another HD codec, then I don’t really have more help to give.
