Thank you. I think I’ll make a system of a mix of yours.

    Thank you guys. Cheers!

  • Are you on a MAC?

I experienced this tick-noise thing when using MP3’s in my timelines with mac’s Final Cut Pro. It was rendering the MP3 very badly. Maybe they have fixed this now on their newer version, I don’t know.

What I did though as a very simple work around, was to use QT (or any other player that alow you to convert audio) to save out the MP3 as a WAV or AIFF, and then use that with my project.

Maybe you could do the same for your project in AE?

I do make my source monitor active, but the menu item is still grayed out. Are you using PPro 1.5 also?

Anyway, thank you, because knowing that it should work, is a great help. The anoying thing is to try something and not knowing if that something even is possible. Now I know, that is half the solution.

Just to straighten things out: I do not have a decklink card. I have 2 x PNY quadro 540 cards.

The Blackmagic option I get for video preview is because I have the codec installed, but I have no hardware to suport blackmagic video output. I want AE to use my PNY card. As I said, PPro 1.5 does this fine.

I have no firewire devices connected to my system, and the client monitor is connected to the PNY card using a Component signal.

Thanks, it helps knowing that I should stop looking for the “use the allready conformed audio”-button.

    But man! Logistic headaces!

I found out though, that if I import an old project, it doesent re-conform tha audio as well.

So for all my audio-library and atmos tracks that I keep reusing, I’ll make a Premiere Project with’em all in and conformed. Then import that project into whatever project I start working on, and it won’t re-conform what it already conformed ones.

    Thanks for the inspiration guys.

December 3, 2005 at 4:13 pm in reply to: Is this an ok ref-monitor for grading?

I think I’ll let this one go by.

I’m going to conect component signal to the monitor. I havent got an SDI output.

I want at least a cirtyfied REFERENCE monitor. Not a broadcast monitor “that is ok for grading”. I want to be sure that when things are “to dark” or “to pink” on a clients monitor, that the error is with him and not me.

    Thank you for the help.

    Cheers

I’ve done that but that leaves me with a black background where the keyhole from the animate should be.

What card do you have may I ask?

  • I don’t know. I’ll have a look this weekend. I think not though, but maybe I’m mistaken.
