If it’s a reference file, why are you concerned about the number of tracks? The whole point of a reference file is to point to multiple individual parts or sections of media.
Reference files are nearly always used to easily move media between applications, avoiding the unncessary duplication and/or flattening of that media. The destination application will nearly always be creating a different (new) file from those references.
What is your particular workflow here?

You don;t say what version of compressor you have but in compressor 3.x:
Start with the preset “MPEG-2 6.2Mbps 1-pass” found in the folder DVD: ‘Fastest Encode 90 minutes’.
Duplicate the setting and double click it.
You can now edit the setting to the exact same ones that are listed above in the inspector.

Squeeze on a PC won;t be able to access DV50 on windows but you should be able to access Quicktime DV25 if you think that would be good enough.
Any alternative like the PhotoJPEG codec will need to be rendered, but it would be very quick on a MacPro.

More details on what you Avid settings are would determine what codec to transcode them to for FCP.

Could it be that you are using settings in compressor that are not available or are more computationally intensive than those in Studio Pro…Deinterlacing and resizing methods for example? Are both set to the same number of passes?
Do your reference files use the exact FCP sequence settings?

I see cropping issues. Incorrectly aligned composition layers and rather too high data rates for the frame size.

It’s worth mentioning that DigiBeta uses a 2:1 compression ratio, it’s not uncompressed. D1 and D5 are uncompressed.

Why are you doing what you are doing? What are you trying to achieve?
When creating a DVD slideshow you might only show 1 frame per second but your video will still be running at 30fps – i.e. 1 frame stays on screen for 1 second but 30 frames.
If you want to create some sort of megafast clip where each frame is different then you need to place a different still image at each 1/30th or 1/15th of a second in your editor or compositor.
Or use a time remapping filter.
