The Blu-Ray 3D spec was only finalised in December last year. Don’t expect to find anything useful, freely available. Just like when DVD Videos fist came onto the market, finding out out to author one was nearly impossible.

Let’s just say you setup your TV incorrectly for the service you are receiving, or you changed it from the ‘Auto’ setting which is usually the default.

Isn’t 1080i interlaced? There is a large mix of 720p and 1080i footage here in the states, it’s predominately 1080i. My examples below are related to frame rates we have here in the states. 25 and 50 fps workflows and processing is probably a bit different. “
I’m not following you.
You first said that 99% of what we see in on TV is interlaced. I pointed out that in Europe we have a mixture of Progressive and interlaced; 576i and 1080i, and then you go on to say that there’s also a mix of 720p and 1080i int he States.
So what is it? 99% interlaced or…….

Qmaster is part of, and only part of FCP. Therefore a licence is needed. Qmaster needs a licence. Qmaster does not install the Prores CODEC alone. ProRes is part of Final Cut Studio! Of which Compressor (and as such Qmaster) is a subset!
The ELUA is very visible as part of a standard FCP install.

Here’s a post from David Newman, CTO of Cineform when asked what’s the best workflow going from 1080i to SD DVD
“Personally I avoid interlaced, so my suggestions will be limited. Others can chime in.
Try this :
Complete a 1080i60 export from Premiere. Load that new 60i AVI in HDLink and set the perferrences to High (at least), Progressive, Remove 3-2 pulldown, Deinterlace and scale to NTSC 16×9. The resulting conversion will be 720×486 16×9 progressive 23.976p — load that in EncoreDVD (or similar) for NTSC master. For PAL DVD use High (at least), Progressive, Remove 3-2 pulldown, Deinterlace and scale to PAL 16×9 and add Rate Change “23.976p to 25p (+4.1%)” and check “Maintain audio pitch.” This will produce a 720×576 16×9 25p output.”
Did you notice his reference to Deinterlcing!

Only if the DVD player is connected to a CRT TV that does not support progressive scan. This does not apply to Plasma or LCD displays which are the norm these days. It’s impossible to buy a new CRT TV (at least here in the UK) and that has been the case for a number of years.
