So get a good hard drive then put all clips on it to work with ? Do you think putting the clips on the external will help speed ?

Mike, I have one more question. I hope you dont mind. I want to make sure I have my project properties set right. I have it in 1440 by 1080 50i 25 23.957 fps. I just want to make sure Im not missing anything like pulldown or what not. Also when I click on the files I captured its saying thier 29.957 not 24p and was wondering if this is normal. Fottage from hv20 was shot in 24p.

It worked !! 🙂 so happy. Mike thank you. Do you know anyway to speed up video preview when working with the timeline ? I have it on draft and it is still jumpy. I installed 2 gigs of ram and the processer is dual 2.8.

Steve, thanks for your reply. So im guessing by external capture you are talking about when you go into file in vegas and go down to capture ?

And if I am understading you right, I need to go to the toolbar on my actual desktop not sony vegas toolbar ? \

    Im a little confused.
