    Thanks for the reply’s guys! Can you tell me a little bit more why you prefer OpenCL? Do you also prefer this when using After Effects?

    A lot of replies! Seems that I’m not the only one with questions about the best codec for editing. I think It’s hard to find the ‘right’ answer within all the information that is available.

    Is there a simple answer to the following question? I just shot a lot of footage with my Canon 600d and my Mac is not that powerful (2.5 Intel Core 2 duo with 8GB of memory). What is the best codec to convert the material that I transferred directly from my SD card to my Mac, so that I can reduce the rendering time as much as possible in Premiere? (CS6) Maybe use handbrake to convert my material to Apple Prores?

    Thanks for the replies! I asked for the footage in Apple Prores. I’m editing on a Mac so I don’t expect to experience any problems.
