    Hi Bill,

That footage looks awesome! This lens will be going on my GH4 so I am extremely happy to hear that it will fit! Could I just clarify though, are you saying that any Sigma 18-35mm Canon mount will fit the Speedbooster, or has the lens on link you provided from Texas Media been modified in some way. I have read elsewhere that some EF-S lenses only have a little plastic stopper so that they can’t fit on an EF mount which can easily be removed.

    Thanks
    Dan

July 29, 2014 at 10:07 pm in reply to: Tracking in Mocha

    Thanks for the reply, Michael.

Do you know if there is a way to track all four dots separately and link each dot to the corner of a four sided shape (the actual sign that I will put on the board?) So that when the board moves slightly, the perspective of the image that I have linked to the tracking points will change relatively.

    Thanks

  • Ah, I just installed FCP 7. Is FCP suite the same as FCP studio? I don’t have enough room on my computer to install the whole FCP Studio. Do you know which section of the package contains Cinema Tools? From what I can see there is Audio Content, DVD Studio Pro content and Motion Content.

Also, is there any other way to conform this footage without using Cinema Tools?

I can’t believe how hard this is to achieve!

  • Hi there,

    Thanks for the prompt replies!

Actually, the slides started off as 4:3 (the resolution is 1440×1080). But when I import them to FCP they get stretched to 1920×1080. I can actually see the stretch.

    Any ideas?

November 22, 2011 at 2:40 pm in reply to: Problems with corrupt Quicktime files

I didn’t witness an event that lead to this corruption. Obviously something happened but I wasn’t aware of the moment.

I tried running diskwarrior but it says “this disk is not a macintosh disk”. I think the disk is FAT32 so can’t hold files over 4gb. I can’t use any of diskwarrior’s functions on this disk.

When I try to repair in disk utility it says that it can’t do anything because disk cannot be unmounted.

It’s very strange because I can preview all the individual files and they all have their original filesizes.

August 25, 2010 at 11:34 pm in reply to: Frame blending when speeding up footage?

I chose DNxHD because I started editing this a long time ago with Premiere Pro on my PC. I was much less knowledgeable back then and DNxHD was recommended to me on a forum. I have seen the frame blending on both Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro.

Is it literally as simple as selecting ‘turn off frame blending’? If so, where would I find this option?

  • Can you give me more detail. I am still having trouble so a walkthrough would be much appreciated. I don’t even know weather to try and capture is VHS mode or camera mode!

I don’t understand why I am getting sound from the camera to the mac when it’s plugged in but no picture. I have chosen DVCPRO HD 1080i50. That is the only full HD 50i option I can see on the capture/input list but still no image.

Any help would be much appreciated!

  • I’m still kind of confused as to how to do this.

I am in Final Cut Pro. I go file > log and transfer > then click the import folder icon.

I can import my EX1 footage but then when I try and add the clips to the queue I am restricted by my hard drive space. This is why I want to send the clips to my external hard drive.

If there is no way to change the destination here then could someone give me a walkthrough on how to use the stand alone application?

July 2, 2010 at 7:53 pm in reply to: How to burn a very long timeline to DVD?

That is so helpful! Thank you!

I seem to be having a problem though. I can’t seem to create a reference movie? When I export using your instructions with the ‘make self contained’ box UNCHECKED, I think my FCP is creating a self contained file!

I have exported an identical clip with the box checked and un-checked and the resulting .movs are the same size? It seems that when I try to create a reference file it is not letting me?

If I was to just export the whole project as a PreRes442 DV file, then convert that to MPEG2 or m2v, then use that in DVDSP, would this be pretty much the same as your method?

July 2, 2010 at 2:36 pm in reply to: How to burn a very long timeline to DVD?

Hi there, thanks for your reply.

The project settings are HD 1920×1080 (because that’s what the original footage is) but I only want a standard definition DVD.

When I export a quicktime movie i choose custom settings and set resolution to PAL 16:9 etc. I have also just noticed the box that says “Quicktime Video Settings” and underneath is an option for compressor and quality. My quality has always been set to best but the compressor had been set to DV PAL.

When I export the quicktime REFERENCE movie with these custom settings and DV PAL compression under the Quicktime Video Settings section the quality is very poor and the filesize is 50 meg for just over 10 seconds.

Then if I do the same settings but choose no compression in the Quicktime Video Settings section the quality is great but filesize is 500mb for the same length clip!

I am having a lot of trouble here and need to deliver the footage tomorrow :S

I don’t want to begin exporting my 3 hour timeline until I know the optimal settings (or this will be a day of wasted rendering).

    HELP!!!
