I guess we could go back to the black movie, which was a file that had the closed caption on top of the frame and then needed to be cropped. Render the whole thing and then output. (not sure how it works with HD, caption is in a different position)
Well if there is no other ways to add caption to a finish program it shows once again that the program is not ready for primetime.

Once my project is completed I export a quicktime (reference, not self contain), and once the export is done I drag the file into toast and burn a dvd. So there should not be any issues with it. I understand the caption company upload the footage into their system either using Dazzle or Ripit, and I am not sure if that is were the problem lies. I will try to output the project the same way I have done it the pass (won’t change anything) and then a dv file and will send to caption to see if the timing is different.
Anybody else has any other suggestions?
How do you handle the caption? .scc or blackmovie?

Try instead of using the dissolve transition to keyframe the opacity from 100 to 0. Also I believe changing the settings in “Sequence setting” – “Video Processin” to 10 bit high precision YUV or render all YUV material to high precision YUV might do the trick.
Also try deleting the preference and resetting final cut pro.
