Thanks for the replies. I kinda figured it would be best to shoot it. I was just hoping to avoid the fill the tank, shoot the tank, empty the tank, fill the tank, shoot the tank, empty the tank, fill the tank, shoot the tank, empty the tank………. =)

    Dave,

Sorry, I’m a tool shed. The frame rate was 29.97 (the default for HDV right?) The thing that I find so mysterious about this is that I was able to successfully render the entire assembly a couple weeks about when I first put it together but for some reason it is drifting now. I do not have any kind of high end card so recapturing in a different format isn’t an option for now. Any other ideas? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. The footage is HDV 1080i 60fps captured from a Sony HDR-FX1.

Hi Ben. I think I understand what you are saying but I’m not sure that it’s the problem. Under item properties the TC is set to source which I believe is correct. I don’t see any settings for frame rate for the audio. The file does play in sync with it’s in FC, just not when I render. The file is and aiff from a Windows machine. I have tried rendering QT, QT self contained, and mpeg via Compressor all with the same problem.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to reply. This is all very useful to me. I eventually want to leave my day job as a web designer and move into freelance video production. Any suggestions for resources that will answer newbie questions regarding the business end of video production? (Other than the business forum of course. =D )

Thanks. I didn’t notice the business forum. I guess I need to hang out here more often. =)
