Greetings. I posted last week about audio sync issues but still haven’t been able to figure it out. I was able to make the festival deadline by shifting the audio by a frame a bunch of times in DVD Studio Pro – which was as much fun as it sounds – but I definitely need this fixed before I can do the final cut.

Here is the current situation. The project is about 33 minutes long. I am rendering from a sequence that contains nested sequences of each of the individual scenes. When I PREVIEW everything is fine. When I RENDER it falls out of sync by about a second by the end of the piece.

    * This happens when using the camera audio or the audio provided by our sound guy.
    * ALL of the audio is 48k.
    * I am rendering to a local drive
    * I have trashed my FC prefs with no luck
    * I have restored the disk preferences for my main hard drive
    * I have rendered to QT self contained and not self contained
    * I have rendered using Compressor
    * I have done the Hokey-Pokey and turned myself around (which didn’t help but was a good stress reliever)

I am pretty new to FC so I am aware that it could very well be a noob mistake.

    Thanks in advance.

When you captured the camera audio, did you do it as Video and Audio as ONE file or did you choose to capture Audio and video as separate files?

What format was the camera footage?

    How was it captured?

    What camera was used?

Thanks for the reply. The footage is HDV 1080i 60fps captured from a Sony HDR-FX1.

    Dave,

Sorry, I’m a tool shed. The frame rate was 29.97 (the default for HDV right?) The thing that I find so mysterious about this is that I was able to successfully render the entire assembly a couple weeks about when I first put it together but for some reason it is drifting now. I do not have any kind of high end card so recapturing in a different format isn’t an option for now. Any other ideas? Thanks.
