  • it seems to work fine now. I did absolutely nothing and all of sudden it just worked. The only thing that changed is my belief in ghosts. Mod delete if possible?

  • Problem sort of solved..for any interested going through similar things:

The second editor copies the first editors project file and opens that project while having his project open at the same time. Originally, he would copy the sequences into his project (our ‘master’ project) and then reconnect the media in those sequences to his local drive which had the same media files as my drive. This did not work. It did not allow the reconnection to occur, as the file path to any files simply wasn’t there. However, what did work was reconnecting the media files from my project file that he had open and then copying those sequences to our ‘master’ project.

I’m not sure why this reconnection only works from the original project file, but it does. If anyone has incite to this process, it would be interesting to know.

I am also interested in hearing advice in general about two editors working on the same project and the best workflows.

    thanks again,

    hello,

Can anyone be specific again with the file path? I’m looking in: /Library/ApplicationSupport/ProApps. Im seeing a DVD studio system ID and a Logic Express system ID but no final cut studio system ID. Any ideas?

    thanks,

    Thanks for the response Jerry.

I don’t think that would work in entirety because a fair amount of my images are a much larger resolution that 720X480. Unless I am missing something obvious.

    thanks again,

It is DV pal. I have 30 clips total that add up to about 3 hours of footage.

    thanks for the reply John,

I have done some experiments with compressor and the result is pretty good. My image does get rather squished though, the subjects are fatter and wider. Is there a way around this? Should I be cropping the image before I upconvert?

    thanks again,

These spots are for director’s reels. The marketing people think that when we send DVDs to prospective clients, that they may watch them through DVDs to television sets, or moreover on Laptops. So this process is attempting to optimize playback through both. It may be a lost cause but this was a final shot i guess.

    thanks again,
