    Thanks for the post’s.
I have never used Motion before. Do you think it would be an easy thing to achieve?

    Thanks,

    Thanks for post Joey.
I have one last very basic question.
I just tried to do the transfer to mpeg 2 but I can’t find it in the pull down menu. I’ve got loads of others, pro res, avid ones etc. Am I being daft, or is called something else?

    Thankyou.

Thanks for post. Could you be more specific.
I understand concept, but not the detail.
    I dont use \’Compressor\’ but do use \’Mpeg Streamclip\’

If you could advise on which codec to export out to in fcp
from 2k that would rock. The original file as I\’m exporting
now is 164 gigs, which is ridiculous.
It\’s a graded movie I\’m recuttung, so is uncompressed, but the DVD is for approval only.

    Thanks v much.

Here’s the thing. I’m in London, the original film is 2 hours away at home. I can do it at the weekend when i get back, but is it possible to convert what I have now, ie my 3.1 gig mp4, into an mpeg 2 or something my dvd pro will recognize?

Sorry to persist, awesome advise for when I get back to FCP at home.
I’ve got fcp on my laptop here if that would help?

    Thanks.

Great, thanks guys, v helpful. i shall re export it.
Do I have to go back to original or can I re export the mpeg 4 to a DVD codec?
The original is so big, 160 gigs and takes hours to export.

    Thankyou.

    Hi Mathew,thanks for the post.
Unfortunately it didn’t solve the problem.
Could you please tell me, is it the ‘system’ under name in the mackingtosh HD info, that should have ‘read and write’ privileges?

Thanks again for help with this.
    Dan.
