April 19, 2013 at 3:29 pm in reply to: cloner render instances disables Mograph Selection tag?According to the C4D help,
“Render Instances
Enable this option if the objects generated by the Emitter should be optimized with regard to memory usage, i.e., an almost infinite number of renderable Render Instance should be rendered. For Clones that are nestled in one another, this option only needs to be enabled for the Parent Clones of the objects to be cloned.“So, put the Cloner inside another Cloner set to “1” and switch on Render Instances on that one. This seems to circumvent the problem. Project Memory is the same in both instances on a setup I just tested so although it seems to be a hack I’m not sure it optimizing things any better.

Try rendering out to Photo Jpeg at 75 or better and what are your results. Are you rendering out a composite or just the key with Alpha? You could try rendering out just a Luma matte. BTW, By PC do you mean Windows machine?

Your solution is in using Mocha AEs planar tracker for the sort of thing you are trying to achieve in this shot. It’s basically what Mocha was designed for. Imagineer Systems basic tutorials, probably even some on Creative Cow is all you’ll need to nail this shot down.

February 13, 2013 at 3:59 am in reply to: Best way to fill an object with smaller dynamic objects?Put your “coins” in a Cloner Object inside your Piggy Bank. Add a dynamics tag – set individual elements to all to the Cloner and let the animation run it’s course. then “set initial state” in the Dynamics Tag of the coin at the settle state. Hope I understand you correctly.
