Hopefully you can see at this resolution. I want to use the camera tracker to have text appear painted onto a wall. This is my first stab at it, I did it by analysing the video file, then lassoing a load of the track points on the wall, and then choosing “add text and camera”.

The results are good but not perfect, every now and then the text seems to move just a little bit in it’s own direction, and even just a tiny movement is enough to ruin the effect.

Are there any steps I can take to trouble shoot, or iron out the results of this track?

    Thanks,
    Chris

Your solution is in using Mocha AEs planar tracker for the sort of thing you are trying to achieve in this shot. It’s basically what Mocha was designed for. Imagineer Systems basic tutorials, probably even some on Creative Cow is all you’ll need to nail this shot down.

Thanks for the tip. On my way home now but will try this out tomorrow.

Ive dipped into Mocha before but in my ignorance had assumed that the built in camera tracker in CS6 ha made it mostly redundant. I’ll report back on my results tomorrow.
