Hi. Thank you for your response. I’ve mixed 24p in a 29.97 project before and have had bad results. The Avid may allow it, but it caused a lot of issues and isn’t pretty. : )

I’ve never tried to ingest 25p footage and have no idea how it would handle it.

Unfortunately 25p is not an option in Media Composer (that I know of). Just the usual 1080i, 1080p, 720p, and 30i. Maybe V7 has changed to include other options, but I haven’t heard anything about.

I like the Alchemist idea. Seems like the best option as far as quality is concerned.

Not sure if it’s differnet on a PC, but that opens it in the source window.

Thanks Shane. I wasn’t aware this was XDCam footage since it wasn’t shot on an XDCam camera. I guess it’s a Sony thing.

    I appreciate your help!!

The Media tool couldn’t find them for some reason. But copying the media database into an empty bin worked!

    Thank you, Shane!!!!!!!!

It doesn’t work in Classic mode or using the Smart Tools. Yes, Sync Lock is on.
What happens is when I try to do the trim, the little indicators on locator are red instead instead of purple. The if I try to do the trim, it treats it as a 2-sided trim. So if I want to extend one clip in the timeline, it doesn’t extend just that clip as it’s supposed to. Instead it just extends the clip into the next one.
    Hopefully that makes sense.
