    Thanks Chris,

I changed resolution to 72 and added slight blur but quality was very poor (even by setting sq on progressive)… The closest I could get to want I wanted was by adding a minimal filcker filter, but still not quite satisfied.
I check results on external monitor.
So far I have managed not to use either motion/After Effects but guess I’ll have to give it a go.
As I have both softwares installed which one would you recommend and why?

    Thanks again

    Thanks Chris,

Unfortunately if I reduce the dpi to 72 I will have to enlarge the image and loose quality. I have already tried the flicker filter but then again quality remains unsatisfactory.
I have also tried to set the sequence as uncompressed. Same problem…
Note that the whole film is made of stills (35mn)

    Thanks Walter

    I’d like to clarify this:

    – My source material is DV PAL as well as my capture and seq. settings. After editing and applying effects to the clip (color / fades in and out / speed change / deinterlace etc.) do I lose any quality if ‘Print to tape’ the sequence back on to DV tape?

    – After adding effects on DV PAL seq. from DV pal source material, is it better to set seq. on ‘Uncompressed 10bit’, render and then export it as QT self contained movie, or to export it using QT conversion set on ‘Uncompressed 10bit’?

    – Also: how can I output Uncompressed clips from hard drive without re-compressing them to DV tape? Is Beta SP the best option?

    Thanks for your patience

    Damien

    Thanks for your advice.
This format seems to operate if the output is also DV PAL. But should I also keep it as a QT self contained movie if I was to output it on BETA SP or blow it on 16 / 35mm?
If so, why would anyone use conversion (either ‘None’, ‘Animation’ or ‘Uncompressed 10bit’)?

The original format is DV PAL from tape as the sequence.
I need to archive clips which have been edited regardless of sources (tapes) and by making off line all Final cut pro files.
Basically I need to be able to use QT uncompressed clips for future editing as masters.

    Thanks Jeremy,

I will run some tests accordingly.
