Holy crap! Thanks so much! Date(0)! I would never have figured that out in a million years. I would have assumed that would return Jan 1st, 1970. Thanks again.

Not to be rude, but maybe the reason that so few people used it was that it was so bad that it was avoided as much as possible? Instead of removing the feature, maybe it should have been made better? My main gripe before was that the RAM preview version of the wireframes looked different from the non-RAM-preview wireframes, making it frequently unusable for testing movement.

I understand the nature of time constraints in software development; and I’ll admit that I’m only noticing its removal today, but that doesn’t change the fact that I wish it still worked. =

Incidentally, there *is* a way to get around this. This website explains how:

This “feature” makes me absolutely insane… like furious-hot-headed-i-want-to-break-my-f*&%ing computer insane. I realize that position values are edited directly in the comp window, but I can’t count the number of times that this is utterly impractical or downright impossible. Anytime I want to move an object purely horizontally or vertically, it is INCREDIBLY difficult to get my bezier curves the way I want them….

ADOBE – WHY can’t I edit them in the graph editor like everything ELSE????

I feel like I’m using some horrible software from 1989. This pisses me off to no end. Could this be fixed with a plug-in?

    UGH!!

    It’s all Animation Compression.

All of our SD footage comes out of the Avid using Avid Meridian. It then comes to us as an OMF, which we import via Automatic Duck (which we then convert to Lossless Animation Compression Quicktime movies).

All of our HD footage comes out of the Avid using Avid DNxHD (I believe). It then comes to us as an AAF, which we import via Automatic Duck (which we then also convert to Lossless Animation Compression Quicktime movies).
