Oh man, it’s so great when it’s that easy! Ask and you shall receive!

Well, I don’t make it seem TOO easy for when I run into a tough one Rofl but in fact AEP turned out to be pretty easy too.

See attached! We’re recognizing the file, and seem to be uploading it okay, but I’m going to need you to test the download to make sure that the file behaves like you expect it to back in After Effects.

Let me know what you see!

And for anyone else jumping on this thread, I’ll need you to zip and upload the type of file you’d like to have our system support natively, and be available to test it to make sure that it works….but yeah, so far so good!

    Thanks again,

    Tim

Thanks Dustin! We’ve been putting a lot of effort into performance tuning, so we’re grateful for your help to track down anywhere that we aren’t hitting the mark.

It’s late in the day here, but I’ll have the team start poking at this tomorrow. I’ll let you know what we find!

    Thanks again,

    Tim

    Hi Dustin,

Thanks for the report! We’ll definitely look into it. Can you tell me which OS you’re using?

    Also, which version of Firefox?

    Thanks,

Okay, the good news is that the compression is visually lossless. The somewhat exasperating news is that even though I’ve checked “do not scale”, there is a very slight rescaling. I think I can live with this, though!

I do encourage other folks to check this out with their large images, including cover images for their member profiles. MUCH better!

Update! I’ve found where in our settings we were mashing the images, and we are now NOT mashing them. Sunglasses

Again noting that I chose this image because of the super-noisy clouds and gradients galore, and NOT because I think this is an especially pretty picture, but I love that it’s not being chewed up.

For the record, there is pixel-accurate lossless compression on the largest images. Our admin tools include a wipe tool that allows you to slide it back and forth to compare, and I can say that on a full-size, very bright 4K display, I really can’t see a difference. Click on it to see full size in the lightbox.

And of course see what you see with your own images!

And I’ll go ahead and add here since it came up earlier in the thread, file upload is here! Thanks to Jim’s help over the weekend, I was also able to build in new functions to support direct upload of .c4d files to our server. No need to zip first.

You’ll see the file upload icon in the toolbar at the bottom of the text entry window.

I’m glad that Chad’s issues seem to have come in for a landing, but I wanted .c4d folks in particular to know that we’re on the case!

Anybody who has additional file types that they’d like to be able to upload directly, swing by the Letters To The COW Team forum and let me know! I can’t say for sure that we’ll be able to work it out, but we probably will, as long as I have your help. Sunglasses

Sigh, it uploaded twice, and me deleting one of the uploads deleted them both! At least it’s working!

Thanks for your help bringing it in for a landing!
