Also, when using it with radial wipe the border disappears if wiping on. It just suddenly appears/disappears in the middle of the keyframed wipe.

Thanks for the suggestions Kevin!

don’t check the last autosave file #20. It could be #10 or #2. Search those autosave files by time/date. It is just a revolving feature that resaves starting at #1 after #20 and the process starts all over again.

Hi Amir,
Unfortunately, I can’t find the files I used to create that project. I looked all over my computer and drives with no luck. I don’t work at the Tennis Channel anymore so don’t have access to their drives. We only developed this as a sample but it never got approved for air.

Roman,
Here you go:
3715_hdlower3rdscoresgift.motn.zip
3716_hdfullpagescores1matchgift.motn.zip
These are motion 4 files. Again, not sure if they work in FCPX. You should be able to open the motion file and you’ll see the graphics I built. You can delete the score boxes to make the matches 3 sets if you want. I took out the Tennis Channel logo. I do work for them and that’s why I built these samples, but we never used them for on-air.
Once the motion file is open, go to File>save as template. Name it whatever and it should be automatically saved to the proper place. Then open FCP and you should be able to access that template for use in your videos. Not sure where that would be in FCPX. FCP 7 it’s under the Effects menu I believe. Good luck.

Roman,
I had to make my templates in Motion as I couldn’t find any. Here are two examples I’ve done:
Are these what you are looking for? I’m on Final Cut 7 and don’t even know if Final Cut X is able to use Motion templates anymore.

June 28, 2011 at 8:31 am in reply to: Why use FCPX if you plan on moving up in the industry?A company that pays you well and has a crappy edit system, is a system you should know like the back of your hand. The last few years I’ve worked on:
Velocity
FCP
Avid
Grass Valley Aurora
DaletI only own FCP, so those other systems I learned were at the company. Dalet is the worst piece of crap I’ve ever worked with. But there are people making close to $100,000 using it. Why? Because the company pays them to use it.
The worst rates I ever get offered are for editing with FCP. That system has watered down the market considerably. I’m afraid FCPX will make it even worse.
In hindsight, Avid would have been the best system for me to stick with. I never see anyone asking for an Avid editor for $10 an hour, unlike FCP. BTW, I live in SoCal.

Yes I think that’s the best way for what I’m doing. Though my original background was a custom shape with a gradient fill. I couldn’t get that to be my source for the drop zone, so I exported it as a PNG and then use that as my source. Everything should work well once I have it set up.

it was a gamma issue. Added a gamma filter in motion to the re-imported object and adjusted to taste.

I can open my FCP 7 and show you those same codecs in my bin and on the timeline…but it doesn’t mean it can handle it.
