I ran across this issue today in an AE project that I converted to the latest update of AE 15.0 on a Mac.

Trying to R click the unlinked file and selecting Replace Footage / File resulted in a greyed out AVCHD file. Next, I went into Finder and Navigated to the file by R clicking on the AVCHD file / Show Package Contents. Repeat for BDMV file, as metioned in the earlier post. Option dragging did not work for me, but I R clicked on the missing file one more time / Replace Footage / File and the file was available.

I guess AE needs a little help by manually opening the Package Contents in Finder. Kinda weird.

  • I restored default preferences and that fixed the issue. (CNT, SHF, ALT) while launching Encoder.

Thanks Eric! That worked beautifully and it also solved the problem of the mask affecting other areas when I scale the object.

Thanks Dave. It looks like there may be some solutions requiring some coding. I’ll have to do a bit of homework.
    I appreciate the help.

    Quality loss should be negligible.
If you are concerned you could recapture via firewire and bypass the Decklink. Make sure you select Apple’s DV codec.

A round-about fix may be to re-export the clips in Compressor using the DV NTSC settings in the Standard Definition folder. I would do a test with a short clip.
Also, have you loaded the Blackmagic codecs on the Windows system?
    Good luck.

I copied the preset but don’t see a way to change the frame rate.
Also tried to copy/modify the DVCPRO HD 1080p30 preset but can’t change the fact that it is looking for firewire input.
Can’t think of a solution short of having the source tapes converted from 30p to 60i.
    Any more ideas?

  • Thanks for the details, Bob. I was looking for this info just the other day.
    Very useful.

Tried using Apple’s easy setup but it is for DVCPRO HD.

I don’t see 1080p30 listed on the specs for the Decklink HD Pro, PCI-X. Am I out of luck for capturing these tapes?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,

I clicked “show all” to see all of the easy setups and found Apple’s DCVPRO HD – 1080p30.
Will this work well with the Decklink?
    Thanks again,
    Craig
