I’m using the X70. It imports directly into FCPX. I don’t use Catalyst Browse. Using FCPX I make an FCPX Camera Archive (copies the the card, metadata intact) and then import directly from the Camera Archive into FCPX.

I believe LPCM at 48kHz should be OK. Check the sample rate. Also check the frame rate to make sure something odd didn’t happen. The free version of Telestream Stream Switch is good for inspecting files.

Windows Media Player can even play H.264 .mov. I think this has been the case since midway through Windows 7. It certainly began playing H.264 .mp4. Anyone who “must” have .wmv is probably on Windows XP.
You’d need Flip4Mac Studio Pro HD.
Sometimes it’s better to educate the client. -

MacBook USB-C is not Thunderbolt compatible. I don’t doubt when new MBPs are announced they will be Thunderbolt 3 compatible. I haven’t seen rumors that pin that to a real date although I wouldn’t be surprised if we see them by November give or take depending on what vintage CPU they use.

Maybe I missed it but with all the talk of the new iPhone camera features especially on the 7 Plus, they didn’t seem to talk about it’s video capabilities. So even on the consumer level they didn’t pay any attention to it.
