    Howdy,

We ingest approx – 20 hours of HDV every week via Firewire – until recently all went without a hitch BUT last week a few tapes would simply not ingest – only way around was to NOW the capture minus machine control, make sure you have your setting set about the TRT of the tape ie Abort capture after XXX min is off – BUT you will need to keep an eye on it … hope this helps !!!

  • Hi everyone,

cheers for the reply – I am trying to make the .fcp project file into a program so I don’t need to render/export 8 bit uncompressed it from FCP – As Walt mentioned mes thinks it is a update … soon – maybe !

Tried importing the .fcp file into Compressor and it didn’t want to know a thing about it

    Hi guys

We had this issue a few months ago and it is to do with the config of Intel MAC/finder and a san network, if you have folders created on a external drive and then you move files around or whatever you can get a massive issue, in our case we lost 1.5TB of stuff, apple are aware of this but wont do anything about it …. if you have a PPC this will (hopefully) be able to see your folder but my guess is it has gone, sorry

  • I’m going 1 step further – I’m going to install Leopard Server onto my Metadata Controller and SAN with the 10 seats of FCP ….. just to see what happens 😉

yeah that would make a bunch of sense, we have Flip4mac, episode, squeeze 4.5 but the WMV is complete rubbish compared to PorCoder ….. tried showing client the difference and the MAC products just didnt cut it, cheers for the idea.
