October 12, 2020 at 2:43 pm in reply to: 2020 iMac versus iMac Pro configurations for editing in PremiereThank you John, good info here. I am leaning toward the newer iMac with newer CPUs as well. I think Resolve is pretty GPU intensive (someone please correct me if I’m wrong), though I need to research more about Premiere in that regard.
Thank you again for your response!

I’m having the exact same problem as well. Recently upgraded system to a new iMac i7, Yosemite 10.10.1, Avid MC 8.3.0.
First time it happened was after a crash, but I had been saving religiously as I always do. Next time it happened was after a save and exit of the program. It is very random. Only some of the comments in a bin are lost, not the entire bin. And it doesn’t even have to be the bin that is currently open (I keep mine in tabs).
Very frustrating, I hope Avid can fix this quickly.

January 4, 2013 at 6:26 pm in reply to: Aid MC 6 crash with Boris FX BCC 8 – Update SequenceUPDATE: I just ran across this on the avid forums. Basically it’s been determined that this is a Mac issue only. The sequences can be promoted successfully on a PC, then from what it sounds like, can be transferred back to a Mac as a workaround for now.

April 11, 2012 at 4:19 pm in reply to: Aid MC 6 crash with Boris FX BCC 8 – Update SequenceDavid, were you running MC 6.0.0 before this problem? I’ve been running 6.0.1 this whole time and still have the same issue.

March 29, 2012 at 6:54 pm in reply to: MC 6 saving exports settings and timeline settingsJeff,
I feel like a fool. Turns out it WAS a user setting. Strange thing is that my user setting was already new to begin with, not imported from MC 5.5, so I was reluctant to take the time customizing it again.
Sometimes you gotta just go back to the beginning and start over again.
Thanks again!

March 26, 2012 at 10:34 pm in reply to: Aid MC 6 crash with Boris FX BCC 8 – Update SequenceNo luck yet, David. But jeremy from Boris FX emailed me that his team had replicated the issue and the engineers are looking into it. I will post back here when I hear something.

Copying Presets from Earlier Versions of BCC AVX:
To use presets created in earlier versions of BCC AVX, you need to copy the older presets from their previous preset location to the new BCC AVX 8 preset folder location. The folder name for presets made in previous versions of BCC AVX did not contain the suffix “8,” although the path was the same. Filter presets are located in individual effect folders inside the BCC Presets 8 folder.
