Curious. Do you get any lag with other operations? Are your media drives perhaps in a energy saving sleep mode and need to wake up before responding?

I’ve zapped buggy behavior in FC by trashing the app, you loose nothing but preferences, and doing a fresh download from the app store. Painless, quick, and a fresh copy often does the trick.

Decide what the common thread is and weave your story around it.
You might want to make this a series rather than a feature.
I would suggest a narrator v.o. To act as a host to examine this complex myriad of subjects.
But what is the thread ? Regions. Background. Diversity. What they have in common?
I might also consider finding an experienced editor to work with you.
I think your workflow will evolve as you tackle your first subject and learn how to sort through an excess of media. Then you can apply that to the stories that follow.
Personally I would keep each subject in their own event. Within the event apply your key words. But decide first how you are going to frame this story. The first thing you need to decide is if you have one story or many stories.

Hi Bob,
We have a growing production class lab with 10 thunderbolt iMacs and Pegasus raids.
On another forum you recommended:
“Imagine Products PreRoll Post with the MLogic MTape”
I assume that this is the least expensive of your recommended thunderbolt solutions and most portable/self-contained?
The unit has two thunderbolt ports so I can daisy chain it to our Pegasus Raids at each station?
Or does it need to be in a different order. MAC>RAID>LTO drive? The Tolis Group’s solutions look more expandable but requires at least two units – one to integrate with the thunderbolt Mac and then the LTO drive(s) are connected to it.
With the Imagine Products, do you recommend the “PreRollPost application” for an additional fee ($100 discount when bought with unit) or is – BRU Producer’s Edition (PE) software or perhaps CAT DV better with the Imagine Products unit?
With 1 LTO drive and multiple iMacs and 100s of projects, I need a way to archive the tapes and have a spreadsheet of what is on them. This needs to be updated as I will wipe out the majority of the projects on both the raids and tapes at the end of each semester, saving only those we might need.

You could hook up each camera to a broadcast monitor with scopes and color correct during a shoot to a degree. Even a slightly different angle or black levels or lens will change the perceived color. Also do we really want to white balance out the look of sunset or the gel that a lighting designer added to a shot? Is there something really wrong with having natural light coming in a window when using 3200 lamps? That too is a rule. Gel the window. Are any two outdoor shots the same color temp? Depends on the clouds and anything else that filters the light. Does natural sunlight through a window really match daylight bulbs? Kino flos are warmer than fresnels of the same spec – do you ever mix these two light sources? Do you ever dim the hair light which warms up the temp? I’m beginning to believe that white balancing is a relative variable. I’m much more concerned with controlling exposure levels and depth of field. In post you can concentrate on how different shots in the same scene or in sequence play with each other. The human eye/brain will white balance a scene on its own. The camera won’t but humans watch the film. I think we are much more sensitive to contrast than we are color accuracy. All that said if you are shooting with multiple cams of the same model, its good practice to have them match so you can cut between them. Just curious – are your tests taken with identical angles to the cards? Is there any way of calibrating the same model camera to match each other?
