I really think the original solution however is the best. Mini-cams can take good visuals with good lighting. Audio is not very good however.

Ty, this sounds interesting. Why does their product description say it is not intended for powered speaker runs? Or I they referring to outputs from powered speakers?

I follow the logic for monitoring via a DV deck and an external monitor, but with a default of 4 frame offset wouldn’t the exported footage still be out of sync?

And if so what was the proper workflow?
