I think I get it now. They are attached to the side of the case rather than the deck. I’ll have to think what I could use. I need them free standing. But they would have to be support enough not to tip. Your case does the trick.

I have a bolt driver set and I have a counter sink bits. So tool wise I should be fine. Just have to figure out what I’m going to mount the pipes on. I’d also like to have hooks to hang the xlr cords.

Yes its a proper diffusion gel. I think its rosco and tough spun.

The reason I asked about spot vs flood is that the bulbs that went south had a bubble on the side facing the silver reflector on the inside of the lamp.

As far as movement – well they are a pole controlled fixtures and yes we make adjustment with the lights on.

We are talking over 6 months of heavy use.

In any case just wondering if shape makes any difference and why some of these bulbs are so much more expensive than others.

The ones we have are the cheapest of the options but the name brand (Sylvania / Osram).

You might try a mini-plug extender. Not only have they solved that problem for me but it made it easier to plug in and out because it’s off the device and takes some of the pressure off the plug, particularly if you velcro or gaffer tape it to a strap or whatever. It does however add another connection to the chain and any of them can cause a problem. Make sure that the plug has the right number of bands around the connection that matches the others. You know, mono vs stereo.

I need to build a stand for 5-6 boom poles. How did you attach the PVC so its solid enough to hold light stands? Love the organization.

Yeah. And it did render some things that were not rendered or I should say were rendered but still had orange (the big fix notes claimed they wouldn’t export properly-specifically speed changes). But I still have a couple that are orange.

Thanks Ronny. I’ll give it a try. Not too impressed with video animation window. Just two small to work with and seems redundant. Though I like your suggestion to use it after the fact. Can’t that also be modified in the inspector? I’d really like to do all this more blown up in a viewer/monitor. Same with audio key framing. I just find it physically tedious to be clicking on these small lines and micro-windows. But it gets easier after you’ve had enough practice.

Thanks Andreas. Not sure what you mean here. The whole idea is to make it more or less bullet proof.
Otherwise sure enough some of them will mess things up deliberately or by being careless.

The only discipline I see this needing is for them to save non-FCP document files to their personal sparse image “document folder”. If they save elsewhere and in simple finder that means the account’s document folder then their files are open to all other users.

For FC I will be saving the first event and project to the sparse image for each student which should set this as the default.

Do you see any other path they could take that would screw things up?

I could of course not only use simple finder but multiple use accounts as well. That way anything they save will be within that account. Just not sure how well OS X handles permissions on external drives. In the past its been spotty at best. I’ve visited many computer labs at schools using far less demanding software and they are all messed up. The more motivated students carry flash drives and that works for word files but will not cut it for projects events and gigs of media.

Thanks. Will give it a try. I tried delete unused render files and render all. Nothing. Tried delete all renders and all orange came back. Render all they all quickly rendered except two of the retimed clips. Plays fine. Orange still there.

Thanks. Didn’t realize they were bundled with the video effects. I’ll read up on their use. Looks like they will easily do the trick. I was looking just in the inspector. To be honest I used normalization a lot in FCP 7 and although it often got me closer to the levels I wanted, I never truly understood exactly what it was doing.
