it looks like it is just another form of library folder with the same folders from the P2 card that I have been copying over.

Thanks,
is the archive feature just to do this within FC rather than in the finder? Or does the archive help being able to import them?

They’ve been around a long time. Authorized and so forth. Ask them if its refurb or a custom installation if its protected by apple care which you should always get the 3 year plan anyway. I’ve bought mine from BHphoto and a local retailer that has decent deals. With a laptop getting apple care for 3 years is a must have.

“Doesn’t that equal only one ring (+ the tip)?

February 3, 2014 at 5:33 am in reply to: Noisy Mic, Problems with new mic, or is it a problem? Why does the mono mini plug have two rings? Isn’t that stereo? Or because it’s fed from only one xlr it’s dual mono?

thanks. not sure where the cam will be but i’ll go wireless to the cam as well. it’s less than a minute of dialog so we should have ample time for a sound test.

January 28, 2014 at 1:07 pm in reply to: Upgraded system drive to SSD, now FCPX won’t properly open LibraryThat’s a huge amount of data for FC to change to new folder structure. Maybe you should let it spin away over night. And I’d revisit the permissions suggestion. Get info on both the media drive and the folder containing the huge event and make sure you have read write permission. You might also try disk warrior and disc utility check of media drive. Did you check individual clips within the library to see if they play in QT in the finder?

Did they suggest a way to cancel a b.g. task when it gets stuck. Really it should have been a quick pop-up that says something like unable “unable to complete task …” A single corrupt frame prevents any work getting done? Not good.

Yeah thanks that looks good.
It all depends on grant I applied for. It includes the red rock system and rails and snake for follow focus.
And a flanders monitor which accepts an HDMI input with an adapter plug to SDI rather than needing an HDMI to SDI converter. Or I could record to a Ki Pro which has HDMI in and SDI out.
