Your suggestion didn’t work either, but thank you for letting me know how badly I messed up here and how to avoid this nightmare in the future.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for responding.
I tried both of your suggestions and neither worked.
A further issue might be that I used the rate adjust tool on several of these files? Which is partly why going in and manually replacing these files would be such a pain.
Thanks again for your help.

Is that final completely unhelpful, snarky response all I get? Am I being blackballed here because I’m using DivX files? I’m trying to quote a text. An author can quote another author to make a point, a filmmaker is legally allowed to quote another filmmaker to make his point, I need to quote a DivX file of film, I was told Final Cut was no bueno, I was told Premier could handle anything, was I wrong?
I put a file named AC3 Codec.component in my library/Quicktime folder, I have Perian, do I need to do something more than that?

I have no other access to some of my material than through DivX AVIs. If someone can offer some advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for writing back. I actually have a Mac, so I can’t download that.
However, I did download AC3 decompressor component that came up in Google?
https://qt-ac3-codec.en.softonic.com/macI also have Perian installed, which is supposed to have AC3 support?
Any other ideas?
Thank a lot,

February 1, 2016 at 8:24 pm in reply to: Avi > MPEGStreamclip > ProRes Proxy > FCP – Audio Loss IssueNo one? I tried looking through some other threads first and tried as many relevant solutions as I could find (Perian, different versions of streamclip, downloading the Divx codec directl) I’m still stumped.

Photoshop does export video files, it does not let you pick a frame rate. I used it to avoid the distortion you get when exporting an image file from Photoshop and importing it in FCE. I also tried importing just a still from that video file as an image and Final Cut made it 30 fps.
I understand that it’s a unique situation, that’s why I’m coming to Creative Cow for help.

Scratch that, that didn’t help at all. Please someone help me out of the nightmare that has been this project.

961X720 seems to have worked.

960 is divisible by 16. So they are indeed full of lutefisk.
