Hmm interesting.. A few quick suggestions that may or may not be useful…

    1. Check your drive space, after many renders it may start getting a little full. Go to your render file destinaton and delete a few of those.

    2. It may be a combo of many factors e.g. slightly underperforming graphics card, slow drive or lack of space, ram being used up. Im not sure of the architecture of Final Cut but if I am correct some programs can only take advantage of a portion of your available ram so having 1.5 gig remaining may not be enough.

Anyhow these are loose suggestions, I hope they help.

Thank you Jeremy, I shall upload a snapshot in a few hours when I get home.

If it helps I can say the tracking actually seems to be ok in that the points stay where they should on screen, my tracking regions are very big to acheive this though, could that be having an effect?

    Thank you

Thank you guys, that was great info and I understand it better now. I guess the more I keep using and practicing with AE the better I will begin to understand when or when not to precompose. Yay for tutorials 🙂

    thanks

April 20, 2008 at 6:02 pm in reply to: HI, stereo sound in FCP

Hi, thank you that is actually very helpful, It was important for me to know how to pan the tracks independently. But also I do have some stereo fx and music, I know in avid their was a radio button to check called “pan tracks left and right” and for some reason that had to be checked or when exporting the tracks would center no matter how you had panned them in your timeline.

So I do wonder about the method of properly dealing with stereo sound in FCP.

    Thank you

April 11, 2008 at 7:56 am in reply to: motion 3 unexpectedly quits

I suggest looking at some forums on apple.com about motion doing this…

Is it the dreaded “Ozone plug in” error?… Ive been battling with that a lot lately…. Apple did recently release an update for motion to improve stability… have you checked updates?

Good luck… Hope it works out for you.

April 2, 2008 at 12:10 pm in reply to: Feathering elements in my composition

Hmm, yes it was infact footage, thank you 🙂 But on the topic of the particle emitters…. is there a way to affect the gravity of something on the smoke??? I need it to be emmitted horizontally across the screen but it just wants to float upwards?

and one more thing? Those pesky boxes are at it again this time in regards to text boxes….. I have a text box with a number 2 written as the text inside it, the effect on this text makes it flicker about a bit but when it flickers too far, it gets cut off by the text box which has resized itself to wrap neatly around my text, this makes the hard edge to the text box obvious. Is there a way to make the text box larger but leave the text the same size?

    Thank you

March 27, 2008 at 2:27 am in reply to: Color Correcting in final cut.

Thanks folks, you have been very helpful and I can now get my sequence into color… and what a great application that is… Walters tutorials are excellent.

And with the use of multiple tracks while color grading in avid. I just found it best to do a basic correct on the actual video and start grading from the tacks above. It allowed for greater creative freedom for dynamically changing the grade even within a clip if you should so desire. Also it was useful when isolating particular areas (highlight area over subject) with floating mattes…

But with color its not so much of an issue now, that is a great application that im sure will do all I need. 🙂

    Thanks for the help

    Best regards
