Having same problem editing old IVTC footage – background goes green and when track layer above is at 0% preview flickers between the two tracks

Seen this before and I’m pretty sure it was related to the Quicktime codec so will uninstall and install an older version to see what happens …

    Interesting read ….

I uninstalled Quicktime Pro last week as on Windows I read it was now unsupported and a security risk

No problem there I thought – hadn’t used it for years – except that of course my Vegas 12 Pro 64 bit can no longer recognise .MOV files from iphones and ipads ….

I guess my options are either to reinstall Quicktime OR convert the files to another format

I had hoped that Vegas would just support the MOV files out of the box 🙁

So no other option – no plugin or standalone codec I can install ?

  • This is the 64 million dollar question for me …

I shoot loads of in-doors concerts using the video function of Panasonic compacts and if the lighting is wrong I get vertical streaks from the spotlights – this is related to CCD sensors, MOS sensors do not have that problem – unfortunately they are terrible in low light

I have yet to find a plug-in to remove these for Vegas – even though you would have thought it would be a relatively simple algorithm …

Thanks John Harris – been looking for that everywhere !

I occasionally get audio spikes/glitches on my older TZ6 camera and I edit them out by ungrouping the audio from the video in Sony Vegas – however I always have to ’round up’ what I take out to the nearest frame, thus maximising the blank audio space

Now I can at least minimise the ‘gap’
