Had the same problem as well with those damn Flip videos! All I did was to create a pre-set colour correction which we add to any clips put onto the timeline. Found this was the easiest option. Only major problem we have with all of these types of cameras is that it’s NTSC (at least 30 fps). The new Kodak ‘flip’ is better quality and shoots in 16:9 too (and has external mic input).

The formula we use to output back to DVCam is:
Project Settings:
Codecs (aquire/import and firewire output) SET TO DVPreferences:
Video Output (output HDe set to DV) SET TO DV and SELECT DV DECK TOO
also Device Control: (Firewire and Select Deck too)You should now see image thru the DV recorder and be able to use “Master to Tape” via File Menu.

Well at least you GOT the Webinar invite. I never received any notification of that event! I normally get these, but had no idea it was taking place. Perhaps Boris needs to recheck its database of those on email lists? Wick: can this be done somehow on-line so we don’t miss out on things again??

Just to back up what Wick said about the Codecs. As he already knows, we had this problem a week or so ago at Imperial College. After much transatlantic telephonic communications (!) Wick helped me solve the problem. It was indeed a file in the Quicktime folder. I did as Wick suggests and moved everything out that was not needed to run M100 suite. The problem file was one I could not associate with, but was a Quicktime SML file (maybe to do with SMIL?). I trashed it!!!

Wick,
This has successfully resolved our Media100 Suite 1.0.2 problem when using Boris Red! Many thanks to you and all those behind the scenes who worked on this patch.

Hey Wick,
Clever you! I was starting to think it was just us that had this problem, but it’s always good to hear when others can reproduce it. Looking forward to hearing back from you on a resolution.

Yes correct, only happened on the same mac and monitor. We’ll look into screen resolution to see if that has anything to do with it.

September 24, 2009 at 11:11 am in reply to: Opening Suite programme in version 13 producerHi Wick,
Yes we were aware of that and have got the trial of suite on the machine but a slight delay in ordering the upgrade has resulted in the trial version ending, thus we needed to use 13 which is still operating ok.

I agree totally with the comments by Michael Slowe. I get the same comments but including the mention (of course) of Avid! I have always found FCP full of menus and sub menus which confuse me at times (and many others too). M100 has always been very easy and powerful to use and few seem to know it’s out there – that’s a shame.

Thanks Floh. I have to say that I never realised that the mouse had this option to have each side biased for left/right clicking, I was looking for an obvious left/right button like a PC!
