“DVMP Pro” can display the camera-created timecode for the HMC150 and other AVCHD cameras which record timecode into the MTS files. But it might be cumbersome to switch between a NLE and DVMP Pro.

Looks like the answer is no. If you just want to be able to see the GPS data on your PC, DVMP Pro can do this but it is a separate program.

Apparently the NXCAM LPCM issue is fixed in CS5 – but not sure if there is a fix for CS4.

If you have access to a Windows PC, “DVDate” and “DVMP Pro” may help too.

You could also take a look at “DVDate” and “DVMP Pro” which are external programs that can overlay the date and time on the video frames. DVDate works for DV format only but is free. DVMP Pro works for DV, HDV, AVCHD, Sony HDD and MOD.

Yes John, that’s exactly what I mean. The timecode *is* there in the file (same as that displayed on the camera) but most programs are unable to read it – so they just use zero.

NX5U does contain timecode in the files that are copied to the PC. DVMP Pro shows the timecode frame by frame. The issue seems to be that other video programs do not read the timecode that is in the file.
