I’ve got an email message from Cine-City, the Indian company. They told me that they can assure me that I will receive a “good quality product.” I will let them know of Creative Cow so they can listen to customers and what they have to say about their products. That way, they can improve their stabilizers, make us happy, and probably increase their sales. This is one great forum!

Thanks Alexander. But doing it that way will “flatten” the Powerpoint to an ordinary movie file and remove all of its interactivity. What I need is to preserve the interactivity and be able to use the DVD in a computer. Anyway, I did not pursue with that because the video file that I burned is very large and the DVD cannot accomodate any more files.

Are you talking of the “comfort arm” (one-piece arm) model or the “magic arm” (two-piece arm)? When was that bought? I will also browse the web for the varizoom and the glidecam.

I am also not sure if there are any training schools here in Manila, Philippines. There could be one in Cebu but that’s too far.

I have heard people saying that the Indian models are worthless. But none of them say exactly why. I would like to know why the Indian made steadicams are junk. Is it hard to balance the camera? Is the gimbal not smooth enough? Is it close to impossible to make a camera glide smoothly?

I would like to buy the most affordable stabilizer, but if someone can tell me exactly why these Indian models can’t perform (based on experience), I will not waste money on them. Thanks guys and God bless.

I know that no one here will use anything less than a Letus35 Extreme. However, has anyone experienced using a Letus35 Economy? How does it compare with the Extreme? Thanks.

It’s not the best but it’s good enough. A camera with a bigger sensor costs at least twice as much. If you bought it because you got a “REALLY good deal,” I doubt that you are ready to purchase an EX1, which is far more expensive. Put more attention to your lighting.

December 21, 2007 at 11:49 pm in reply to: are they called videographers

Hi Mark. Being called a videographer is fine for me. But people tend to think of videographers as someone who is strictly on using the camera. I conceptualize, do the script, direct, and edit (which includes visual effects by compositing and motion graphics using After Effects). I want a name that will capture all those. Should I be called a videographer too, or is there another name for that? The reason why I’m asking is that I will put it in my business card. I can also probably use it to refer to me in my contracts. Thanks.

December 20, 2007 at 9:55 am in reply to: copy tracker data

Sorry, I mean a mask, not a matte (are they the same?)

Anyway, this is what I’m trying to do: I have two footages, one on top of the other. I drew a mask shape (a circle) on the footage on top. Now in the footage under, there’s this moving object that I tracked.

The reason for the mask is that I want the footage on top to show only the area inside the circle (mask). Now I want the mask to move in the same direction as the object I tracked on the footage underneath it. Thanks.
