If I’m understating your situation correctly, I often have a similar problem when using my lap top and playing back large Quick Time animation based files. Have you tried setting them as Proxy files until the final render?

Just a suggestion, but if I were doing this I would take the shot into Photoshop, Cut out the sign and make it its own layer, clone the hole in the back ground and remove the clouds at the mountain line so that you have an alpha channel for the sky. Bring the sign layer and the background layer into AE. Turn the layers into 3D elements add moving clouds to the Alpha Channel using either Fractal Noise or if you want a quick fix check out Andrew Kramer’s Real Clouds https://www.videocopilot.net/products.html.
Add a camera and bring your sign layer close to it and move your back ground elements farther away. Do a slight camera move and I think you will be pleased with the results. I do this kind of thing all the time for people wanting photo slideshows.
Hope that helps

Hey Jeff, you can also add the seperate XYZ effects to the Null to give you more control over the camera movements.

Lorraine,
I’m not sure if your using AE, but if you are here is a link to a turorial by Aharon Rabinowitz that shows you an easy way to create gears from Shape layers. Hope it helps.

If I understand what you are trying to do, I would simply layer the map and color correct the top layer. I would then animate a mask revealing more or less of the color corrected layer.

Lee,
Dont quote me on this but I think that file types supported are determined by plug in modules that ship with Premier. Make sure that when you re-installed, all of your plug in modules are present.

I often use https://www.soundrangers.com/. It is not a free site but the prices are very afordable. Also, check out Andrew Kramer at https://www.videocopilot.net/ He has a new sound effects DVD out and his stuff is always outstanding.

What CODEC did you use when you rendered the file? Seems like you used a lossless CODEC, which will give you a huge file not sutable for the web.

I solved my own issue. I didnt realize that my media player did not have an AC3 filter and for for some reason Premiere didnt recocnize the AC3 file. It worked fine once I imported it to Encore.
