Adam, I’m a beginner too, and not a student anymore (aged 74!lol) but I can thank creativecow and Andrew Davis in particular and the whole set of their videos available on youtube that made me able to do this https://vimeo.com/128352749 although it’s far from being perfect. Andrew is clear, easy to understand, no background music like so many do which makes me mad! It’s just the beginning of my video on my trips to Pompei and Hecrulaneum. So I’m sure that you will do much better than I do and in the quickest of times. I began using AE and PrP cc2014 a year ago.
Here is the link; just exercise with them in their order and then try to make the same with one of your own ideas.

You’re right Dave, my image is from CC 2014. I don’t use CC2015 for the moment on my onward project to damn scared to see everything falling out to pieces!

Hi Dustin
In the effects controls panel of the effect under the title of it you should see a line showing the number of frames processed and the percentage processed as well as the number of frames of the sequence .

Thanks Adam; I just found the problem and solved it. I had by mistake stupidly selected the wrong file just adjacent to the proper one in the object’s texture directory. that’s the problem always when people give numbers to a texture instead of meaningful name!Too many developers forget the product will be used by people who did not conceive the object created!

I’ve used google earth and have first carefully cloned each jpeg to eliminate the mention of the source having de-activated the compass on the upper right side before beginning the screen capture. It’s rather boring but it works rather well and doesn’t show depending of the speed of your zoom in or out.you can check the result here https://vimeo.com/131745524 . I’m not a professional but the result is not too bad. I’m second video (Overture) I’ll have to do the zoom again as I had a problem and at the end the picture is blurred independently of changes I want to make to the general sequence. Both videos are drafts of my project.

For nothing in the world will I use CC2015 in its present state. I’ve read here and on the adobe forums all the problems you guys had to face; I’m only an amateur in this field but there are limits for bugs even a non professional can accept from any software and any company in the world.
To pretend that this upgrade was seriously tested makes me laugh, but the victims of these huge loopholes must not laugh at all to see days after days of work torn to pieces because of such an irresponsible release. I’m really sorry for them.

Yeah that’s exactly how I do and I give to new sequence project a name with a digit always beginning by 0 so that explorer present me in the right increasing order
01 02 03 ….098 .In the name of the project to be saved I include the date written
like this 20150812 (yymmdd) again it enables a easy check in explorer.Dave as a precaution before beginning the deletes first save the new project as a new one as it will automatically transfer you to the new one keeping the father project untouched. It so easy by mistake to forget to use save as instead of save in the process of the transfer.

Hi Albert, I’m not an expert and do not know the solution, but unless my eyes betray me the lighting on the green screen is not even and especially it seems there’s a slight variation of it around your actor. That can be the cause of your problem. If I remember what I’ve been learned about green screen, you have to have a total regular lighting and a very plane screen behind your characters to prevent any problems.

Hi Walter, don’t know if your question is addressed to me or to Richard but as I have sometimes the same problem your advice would be welcome. I’ve already changed the location of cache file and nothing else. Here are the infos you ask for:

Video Card and Disk and drivers
Media disk cache settings in AE CC2014 latest update
Memory and multiprocessing settings
I haven’t tested yet the change of the effect of the cache location. But yesterday I had a rather heavy project to render and it took 6 hours! Even for a retired banker this is a bit long !!!!LOL!
