Hi Leonie, I use Skysoft Video converter Ultimate when I downoadl a file from youtube for instance. It has a converter included which enables you to convert to the original format the file and different settings you can change and works perfectly and is not expensive at all; check it out here

Thanks Ted. I tried the 3D camera tracking without success but I made another attempt with Mocha and it worked fine. I made a mistake when I followed the tutorial, my picture did not have the same AR than than the comp! Silly of me. Anyway after different attempts to get a nice shot I’ve decided to abandon this one as my original has a poor quality. At least I’ve learned something! Best Claude

Hi Dave, I’m not I understand your explanation in the first sentence. I’m not a pro and use those programs as a hobby but try at least to learn to do it well.
What do you mean by “An image sequence is much better than the mp4”.

For instance I have the following shot: It is a long zoom from the middle of one of the streets of Pompeii. I intend to give the impression that the buildings on both sides of the street return to their original look before the Vesuvius eruption. For this I have still image (png) of the walls etc.My clip is a 20seconds mp4 with theses characterics:

Do you mean that I should transform the clip into a sequence of 500+ single images? How do you that? The question may look silly but I don’t know the way tot do it. Thanks

Kevin beware that on pc keyboard to get the [ or ] the Alt key you must choose is the “Alt Gr” key on the right side of the space bar. the other would not work to get those special characters which are all situated on the right side of the keys and refer to minuscule on the digits line of the board.

I’ve used the method explained in this tutorial:

My problem I think is that I cant really find a track point on the floor near the pillar with 3D camera tracker. Most of the active ones are against and parallel to the wall.
I’m trying now to solve the problem using Mocha Plus. I have not checked yet but I wonder if the option “Camera solve” in Mocha would not be the solution by creating a null object via Moka and on the other hand a Group null with Element 3D and link the group to the Moka Null.The obj is my bench. The clip is the corridor of the amphitheater.

What do you think?

Good morning Walter;
My problem looks a bit similar I think and for some reason I can’t have the bench ont the clip to stay put by the lighted pillar on the right wall in the background. I used the same technique creating the 3D null for a torch on the upper right wall foreground and the brazier on the floor being just near the place I want my bench set and it worked perfectly. I can’t understand where I’m faulty.May you have a clue…
