  • I haven’t used Squeeze in a while, but between Cleaner and Compressor, Compressor was by far the better result, as long as you can live with the limitations it imposes on the MPEG2 file.

    Yes, I know all of that, but this is the chain I’m working with and it’s not possible to change the original source. Thanks for that suggestion though.

    I’m trying to make the best of what I’ve got.

    Anyone else about the blocky/banding thing?

    Thanks, but I’m seeing this at both 2 and 5. I see it even when I up the bit rate beyond 5, in fact.

    This is not a DVD project.

    I’m producing multiplexed MPEG2 for streaming. And it does have to be MPEG. We are using a specific server side technology.
