Hi Dave, actually the LCD screen pulses, slowly dimming up and down. There’s no roll bar at all. The only thing that crosses the frame is the slate at the head of the scene, but the image on the screen does change. I tried using Color Stabalizer which I read about in another forum, using a dark speaker to the left of the screen as my black and then the lightest part of the screen that doesn’t change as my white.
Results weren’t great, all sorts of weird color spikes and QT I output won’t playback very well.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Actually it’s not even a roll bar it’s a slow steady pulsing, the entire screen dims up and down slowly and nothing crosses the screen other than the slate at the head. Any ideas?

Thanks Alister, what does it save the new clip as? I have it set to save in the same place as the original.
Also, when marking banding manually, which frame do you tag since the banding can span several?

Just downloaded it, can it function as a plug in for FCP or is it standalone? In which case, what’s the best way to export audio from a timeline and re import without messing up synch?
    Thanks

Thanks Matt, that’s a big help. I left out one piece of info, I have to deliver this on DVD (I wish this format would just die already!) My editor is concerned we’ll add all sorts of chopiness by bringing the footage down to 23.97 then taking it back up to 29.97 for the NTSC DVD. We were thinking of doing some crazy stuff and putting everything in a 59.97 timeline, if that makes sense.
By the way, anyone have experience with a good noise reduction software? I was shooting with the 5D2 in the waters off of Long Island at night (cold as hell) and had to shoot at iso 6400 which is usable but a bit grainy.

I tried the XML import from 7 to 6 and it kept asking me to choose a translation document. Any ideas?

I researched tripods for a while when I got my EX1. Wound up buying a used Miller from a friend which I love, but as far as new they have some fantastic heads and sticks at good prices. I’ve heard that a lot of manufacturers have excess inventory that they can’t sell as new after NAB
