Is FCP 6.06 and FCP 7 compatible both ways? Ever?
Posted by Matthew Miller on January 12, 2010 at 7:34 pmI recently heard from a colleague that this was not much of an issue any more. I am hesitant to try it but wondered if anybody on here has effectively been doing this?

January 12, 2010 at 9:04 pmIf you edit in FCP 6, you can open the project in FCP 7 fine….it just updates it. Want to send it back to FCP 6? Just export an XML, version 4, then import that XML in FCP 6. Works fine. Been doing it for 5 months now.

January 13, 2010 at 12:04 amYou don’t go FILE>IMPORT FILE….CMD-I. You need to go to FILE>IMPORT and in that list choose XML.
