Honestly I’ve had so much trouble getting decent sound when shooting as a one man band that I’d love to know what you come up with. I don’t know if there’s a problem with the audio system in my EX1 or the Sennheiser G2 wireless system or my Rode N2G shotgun mic, (or all of them) but things always start off sounding fine then a few hours in I get plauged by all sorts of brief hits of static and other problems that I don’t have time to figure out in a doc situation.
On my last job I brought along a Zoom H4 SD recorder set at 48khz and used my old slate as needed, which while not a perfect solution, at least gave me 2 additional tracks as back up for when everything else started acting up. Which it did.
Dean, great set up by the way.
Guess the best solution is convincing the client it’s worth it to hire a sound guy.
PS iPhones and Black Berrys give off a nasty pulsating hit when too close to wires or mics. Don’t ask me how I know

Yeah as I mentioned above, I tried the usual 1/60th which has always worked and then tried tweaking through Extended Clear Scan but still couldn’t get rid of it despite scrolling from 1/33 all the way up to 1/120.
Any easy ways to convert the 24P footage to 25P? Just drop it in a 25P timeline in FCP?

I’m having the same issue with my EX1. A regular client of mine is in Germany so I shoot 1080 25P for them. I’ve never had any issues until yesterday when I started getting a persistent rollbar through the entire frame. The really weird thing is that the lighting was my Kino Flo Diva 400’s which shouldn’t have any flicker at all, and never have, and even more confusing, regular household tungsten bulbs.
Those shouldn’t flicker until you get up into the high hundreds fps.
I tried Clear Scan, changing shutter speeds etc and finally gave up and switched over to 24P for the sake of getting the job done, which looked fine.
I just tried you turning off the flicker reduce (which was on unbeknownst to me) at home and am getting the rollbar under my 100w lamp at 25P 1/50. A bit better at 1/60th, but it shouldn’t matter under a tungsten filament bulb
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

What LED’s were you using? I’ve had no trouble with my LitePanel’s but Roscoe LitePads are a mess. Big green spike and even with the right amount of minus green gel they shift all over if you add CTO to correct to daylight. I’ve had this with RED raw files too
