Thanks Walter, I had an idea in mind, and it would include some stock footage, so everything would probably start as full motion HD video. Besides the Magic Bullet plug-in, what would the frame rate manipulation be?
From what I’ve read it’s similar to a combination of a pull-down and dropping frames. (Change 30 frame to 20 and drop every third frame for example?) It sounds like there may be a setting for that in AE?

Thanks for jumping into the conversation guys.
Dennis, any chance you can walk me through the process that you used to get to that point?
Chris, I may be sending my camera over to you if it is indeed the CCD, but I would hate to spend a couple hundred dollars to ship the camera across the country for a simple fix as Dennis has described.

July 6, 2011 at 1:25 pm in reply to: Mastering Multicamera: Similar Editing Exercises Available?I was just thinking of Mitch’s book, as U2 was playing here in Chicago last night, and I wondered if he was in town. I never got around to trying his extras disc, but please share if you do come across any exercises.

Mark, I am going to consider the timing of your post a mere coincidence and not an ominous warning of the worst possible outcome of my next shoot. I am planning the exact same shot to open a show this weekend. Obviously I don’t expect to be tethered to a soundman or 3/4” deck either for that matter, but do you have any advice to keep me from becoming another “human tumbleweed”?

June 29, 2011 at 12:39 pm in reply to: Live Video Feed for Theatrical Event: Cabling advice neededI must have missed why you need the audio? The one thing I would say, is that in the production world, you want to keep your audio and video separate as much as possible. That being the case, if it were me, I would take your camera shotgun or whatever audio you are using on it’s own XLR instead of running it down the firewire, you’ll have more control over it that way.

It looks like it was an XD or maybe a P2 so the footage probably survived IF he was rolling. I’m really curious what the talent was saying about him? “Look at our stupid cameraman, he’s never skied before and we thought it would be funny to send him down the speed slope, camera in tow and see what happens” They must be Germans!

Scott, don’t be surprised when they suggest the amateur call you for advice on their project since you were “so knowledgeable and helpful” I’ve had that happen before.
