also, using premiere’s maximum bit depth will enable 32bpc composites. this won’t
help much if the raw footage has banding, but it will composite better and help in extreme grading

max render quality for resize scaling.

there’s banding like sky, then there’s moire from small repeating patterns. you can blur those.
to stop banding,export 10 bit in camera or external prores recorder. Also, any lut that is
16,32 bit will create banding as will effects with 8bpc premiere tag. finally, the export 8 bit h.264 will create banding.you can use neatvideo to remove some banding.

if uploading to youtube/vimeo 8 bit:
a good trick is to export a high quality intermediate in 8 bit. then import/fix with neatvideo. then export final h.264. neat, huh?

if the bluray media looks good if you import back into premiere, then the player doesn’t see 0-255 sRGB. The TV may need calibration. premiere and VLC(with opengl enabled) both see exactly the same gamma and RGB values.

ill try it if you post a download link. i’d first do a de-clip, de-reverb, then a de-noise, in that order. then I’d use leveler freqs. or I’d try noise reduction in audition with learn sound model.

then enhance vocal range raising 95hz 2.5 dB Q 2 width, and 972 hz 4.5dB Q2 and 1306 Hz 4 dB 2Q
then multiband compressor
finally
match loudness ITU-R BS.1770-3 -24lufs for correct audio levels

you can send it to adobe and they will fix the project file.

as far as I know, not even davinci supports it yet. you can transcode to dnxhd, prores, cineform for a digital intermediate.

the original raw audio might be clipped too, though. you can mix 5.1 very easily in audition. tons of video tuts on that.

tips for getting good audio(if you can’t reshoot with expensive sound equipment that is ☺

1. clean up audio. de-clip 1st ,de-reverb 2nd, denoise always last, (watch for DC offset errors and phasing errors)
2. equalize, removing wind, rumbling and enhancing vocal range raising 95hz 2.5 dB Q 2 width, and 972 hz 4.5dB Q2 and 1306 Hz 4 dB 2Q
3. studio reverb size 1; decay 200ms;width 19.9;high freq 161hz, low cut 20hz, damp 50%; diff 50%; dry 100%, wet 78.6% to get warm microphone sound.
4. multiband compressor-fiddle with this one’s settings so it sounds good to roll off dynamic range loudness
5. match loudness ITU-R BS.1770-3 -24lufs for correct audio levels

it comes down to if destructive editing. both do 32 float audio engine but if you do any audio effects that change the fidelity, then the remove noise features won’t work as well later on. i.e. any clipping or adding reverb. You might just want to export non-destructively an XML into audition as it has way more features.
