What your’re looking for is mb/sec. determined by your video codec. If your on a flat broke budget, A wd black can push over 100 mb /sec or several h.264 4k vids.
Any prores 4k will require a ssd 850 although red 4 streams Okay.

A good cheap, fast ssd with large storage is pny cs1111. Non-prores 4k though.
A t1 or t3 external will require usb 3.1 chipset to get full sata3 speeds.
Any thunderbolt setup will probably be outside your range.

Dont forget proxies are easier to use than ever and dont cost anything!

The most mainstream answers are

1-Ssd for os 850 evo/pro
2-2nd ssd project files, scratch, media cache
3-Backup drive

Another ssd just for media cache/scratch

Upgrade project file disk to nvme 960 m.2 or raid

Prores and dnxhd have many flavours of quality.
It depends on your needing grading headroom, re-encoding and bitrate
File size. Even prores 444 is not 100% data lossless. Think of a jpeg at ultra max quality.
The only people who store 16 bit lossless is disney in EXR.

If you choose aac audio, you can go 64kbps that will sound like 128.
Half your resolution.
Also framerate can be lowered with optical flow.
Do a heavy denoise first before compression.

I would just use master clips. they would affect all subclips automatically. select all, paste lumetri settings.

if you want to program and code, if you you unzip the premiere project file(it’s a .gz), you can actually edit in a text file.

michael, i need to point out that the 7600k is a 4 thread not 8 thread like the 7700k that couldn’t handle 2.7k video. plus the video card only has 3GB RAM.

also, the price leaves no room for a monitor. I don’t know what type of SSD it has as some SSD’s are actually slower than Western Digital Black edition(108 mb/sec) 5 streams of h.264. Now if you were using cineform/prores 4k you would need a 850 evo as they are higher mb/sec codecs.

if you check my puget links, you’ll see you need at least a 8 thread to handle stuff higher than HD in your timeline since you need to decompress h.264 which is very cpu intensive.

And a very fast cpu if you don’t want to transccode
With proxies.
