  • There’s a small checkerboard box in your comp window, click it and it will show all transparency as checkerboard. Your button should be there over the top of the checkerboard. As for the encode, flash only supports pre-multiplied. you probably used multiplied or encoded alpha wrong. Use pre-multipled, then video codec jpeg, sorenson spark, h.264, or On2 vp6. audio mp3.

I should clarify, I need to know what the origin of your footage was. Is your original quicktime looking fine but then rendering out dark or is it dark to begin with? Is your monitor calibrated to for a specific color group?

I don’t think your color is cineon because cineon is a white washed grey color.

So, change the output in color converter to the right color output like “example. Apple RGB” (Find out what the origin of the original color management was!)

as for the codec, 10 bit 4:2:2 codecs of windows and macs are still, compression-wise, the same, just the colors aren’t exact. Color manage it through workflow and keep track of what they are encoded at. Professionals leave most things at ProPhoto RGB because the colors don’t change from computer to computer or windows to mac, with properly calibrated monitors.

16 bpc is definetely enough for SD but not HD color correcting. Try HD in 16. eww. As for Linearizing color, it blends color correctly so that you don’t get color artifacts. You only have to worry about this if your using high-contrast, saturated colors of widely different layers. Hope this helps answer your question.

  • realistically, without green box props with orange markers for tracking, actors will look fake and their hands will be floating back and forth like a doll arm’s glued to a paper bag. It’s more work but it’s up to you.

that’s easy, just take a still from the movie and go in photoshop, click filter->vanishing point, draw lines, and open AE and import VPE file and add color effects to each layer. VPE’s support full 3-D lights too.
