I think you’re getting the parenting mixed up. The actual movement of the pedals comes from the looped keyframed rotation of “replace pictures here” and anything that is parented to that, also rotates.

The Null1 is an invisible square that rotates and anything parented to it spins on it’s invisible pinwheel arms, like the milky way galaxy. Make small changes and preview, not big ones and get lost in the errors.

If you don’t have dynamic link, then work with low rez proxies in AE. After Effects doesn’t support Divx so it may crash.

Youtube recommends HD video must be 1280 x 720 or higher if you want the “watch in HD” The final display size on YouTube will be 640 x 360.

Use a bit rate over 2000Kbps for your encoded video.
Keep your overall upload file size under 1 gigabyte and your movie duration under ten minutes.
add the “&fmt=18” or “&fmt=22” phrases to the URL to force HD

A little known feature in AE in project settings, there’s a “blend colors using 1.0 gamma”, changes the way how AE handles mixing colors together at the color engine rendering level.

Here’s a free AE project that has brown, red, green, blue tunable spinning knobs for getting instant preview colors for the look you want. Knobs are under FINAL OUTPUT-combine green into magenta comp.

I have tested every deinterlacing plugin, even the amazing algolith, and they all hinder keying, that’s what happens when you interpolate.
So key first, then deinterlace if needed!

If your going for the 24p Canon hv30 settings, you’re gonna have huge pains setting/tricking the shutter to 1/48th. Here’s a fantastic website.

Your budget will need to include extra batteries/lenses too. I haven’t seen in person the HD Panasonic HDC-SD100/300 but in HD youtube has a full manual control sliding ring/memory stick, great 24p motion, and nice saturation.

The comps are set 720×480 square pixel, the usual size for digital camera photos outputed to a fullscreen dvd. You can reset project for Blueray HD if you want at 1920×1080.

Simply bicubic resize in photoshop to 720×480 square. If you keep the loopout in precomp pictures, it will use that for the source of all rings continuously updated. Lay pictures down one after another, or export them from premiere as an avi slideshow. Scrub precomp pictures composition to see how it works.

If you don’t want the 3 rings to have the same source, duplicate precomp pictures, rename it, place it in a ring comp and copy/paste transform and parent information for each new pedal/precomp.

I can’t think of any one particular tutorial that will give you enough information to become broadly proficent in AE overnight. Read the books Motion graphics design studio founded by Trish and Chris Meyer on After Effects vol. 1 & 2.

Instead, I have uploaded a basic 3-d opening flower template that you can tweak to your liking. You might learn a few things.

Notice the loopouts, they give you infinite cycles of animation and you can load as many pictures as you want onto the the pedals.

Replace placeholder with your pictures and rose_bg for pedal texture of your choosing.

It might work. if not, you will have to buy a plugin like trapcode echospace or find a null script in the script forums.

You could probably do it by hand. Make the squares as presized 3-d precomps, parent them to a null, rotate that null and animate the transforms. Then use that spiral effect.

If you set up the precomps just right, they will auto refresh all the pictures setup in a timeline loading in new picture flower pedals.

Capture normal Premiere 29.97 or buy cineform which removes the pulldown as it captures. After effects just removes the pulldown back to 23.976.

I know the hv20 has a 24p mode where it records with pulldown so you should be able to GUESS 24A PULLDOWN and it will say effective framerate 23.976 and work with both camera footage in same comp and motion tracking should work perfect with no interlaced lines anywhere.

DVD’s then add a pulldown again to get 29.97i for TV’s either in AE’s render fields pulldown or a DVD authoring program.
