Do a quick test with a single image render.
Select Tiff, Trillions+, LZW off
It should remove the banding and fix the text. A lot of codecs are only 8 bit millions :/

Simply duplicate a *.vpr video preset file
from…C:-Program Files-AdobeAdobe After Effects CS3-Support Files-Plug-ins-Format-MediaIO-(presets)-system-en_us
open the duplicate in notepad
(example…) change the Data=”1024 to Data=”1000″.Data=”1024″ ID=”1″ Name=”Frame Width [pixels]” Size=”4″ Type=”VDataType_DWORD”Property Data=”576″ ID=”2″ Name=”Frame Height [pixels]

If you make any new spaces, then AE will probably crash.
All you have do you is make the resolutions the same, then you can change the preset’s other stuff in the render queue.I have tried it in older AE’s and it works perfect!

Perhaps you haven’t extented the composition to match the longer length. Here’s an example of a super slow motion yet all frames are fully retained. Keep in mind, it was created for a timewarp 18fps and has timestretches in the output, so adjust accordingly in your project.

Here’s a quick project file I made. You can turn it into an animation preset or just replace your video with it. It is two cc simple wire removals set in crosshair formation so that they only change a single pixel or two. Simply drag the Null to the center of the bad pixel and you’re done!

What is a hot pixel? Super saturated? Too white or blown out? If you could post a small screenshot I could be more precise in my answer. But you can always setup levels individual controls to do almost anything, mode transfers as sat, alpha, etc. after matte blurs.

interpret 1st layer fps / 2 too. This should use each frame without skipping either from each comp. I hope I understood you correctly.
