A rendering error i dont understand
Posted by Kelcey Steele on July 21, 2008 at 3:20 pmI am getting an error when I try to render out and h.264 movie and I’m not sure what it means.
>>After Effects: AEGP Plugin Media IO Plugin: There is a mismatch between Output Module settings and Transcode Setting. Please verify your settings and try again. Invalid framesize/framrate for this Level. Please lower the Frame Dimensions, Frame Rate or increase the Profile and Level and try again. Medial02 error: 0xc00b0002 Frame dimensions out of bounds
I don’t really know what this means or how to fix it. I am just trying to render out a previously rendered animation quality movie in a more compressed version by dropping it into a new composition. Is there a better way for me to do this without the original files?

July 21, 2008 at 6:17 pmrender settings have a stretch to new framesize, it has to match output module. It’s dumb, I know…

July 21, 2008 at 9:01 pmwhere you select the video codec, below it is a stretch box, checkmark it and it will ungrey height and width, set them to same numbers as adobe encoder settings.

January 14, 2009 at 8:31 pmThanks Chris,
I’m having exactly the same problem with After Effects CS4.
>where you select the video codec, below it is a stretch box, >checkmark it and it will ungrey height and width, set them to same >numbers as adobe encoder settings.
I’ve ticked the stretch box, they are the same values as my animation but I still get exactly the same error. Could you tell me where I find the Adobe encoder settings? My animation is 433 x 26.
I have tried rendering this animation 17 times and spent the past 3 hours on the net trying to find a solution. Your help would be much appreciated. I never thought creating an .flv could be quite this difficult.
I have sucessfully output this animation as a .mov a .f4v and an .avi with no problem its just when I try to make a .flv

January 14, 2009 at 10:06 pmtry groups of 16,32 pixels not 433 x 26. Try 400×16, 400×32, 448×32. I don’t have CS4 so I don’t know if they changed the encoders.

January 14, 2009 at 10:27 pmOH MY GOODNESS!
I set it to 448 x 32 and Boom!
Chris you are a star! That was it. Unbelieveable!
Yippee!
Thanks so much for that!

February 11, 2009 at 7:47 amDid a search for an error code I got and found this thread. I’m very new to AE, this is actually my first time ever using it.
So here goes:I have a project where I imported a sequence of photos to be played back as a timelapse. The sequence settings are 1280×720 and 24fps. When it was time to export I added my composition to the Render Cue and changed all the various settings to reflect the same as the sequence; 1280×720, 24fps, and chose H.264 as the output. I noticed the ‘Comments’ box told me to set the output size to 720×480 which seemed weird but I tried anyway.
Got the error mentioned above.
After finding this thread I checked ‘Scale’ and made the dimensions match everything else: 1280×720.
Got the error.
Frustrated, I output an uncompressed Quicktime and brought it into Final Cut Pro, tweaked some visuals and exported perfectly fine in H.264 with all the same settings.Any idea why this is happening?
Since I’m really new to AE I’d appreciate as much detail as possible, I’m still learning the proper phrases and workflows for everything.
Thanks in advance 🙂 -

February 25, 2009 at 4:21 pmI’m getting the same error and it’s driving me insane!
I’m running AE CS4. I’m using 1280×720 footage shot with a Casio Ex-Ef1. I want to render out H.264 video at 1280×720 for YouTube HD.
Composition Settings: HDV/HDTV 720 29.97
Output Settings: H.264 defaultsI’ve tried checking the Stretch box and entering 1280×720, but no help there. I’ve used these settings in the past with no problems, so not sure what the heck is going on, but I’m tearing my hair out here. Help!!

February 25, 2009 at 5:47 pmHey, thanks for the prompt reply. The only problem I have with that workflow is the original 200-300MB 4 minute video file from the camera that I’ve added very minimal effects to (fade in/out, maybe some curves adjustments) baloons to GBs huge when I export it lossless from AE. My 3 year old MacBook Pro, while it is a formidable workhorse, will really bog down on files that huge. I dream of working on an 8 core Mac Pro with oodles of RAM and blazing fast HDs, but alas it is not the way things work at the moment.
What I’m working on doesn’t have to be super-duper broadcast quality HD or anything. I just want to import my video, apply a little AE goodness to it, and export quickly to H.264 1280×720 and be done with it. I need to understand what is causing this error.
