February 25, 2009 at 6:07 pmWell there is a big error that prevents me from rendering at all, it;s the on from the orginal post in this thread:
After Effects: AEGP Plugin Media IO Plugin: There is a mismatch between Output Module settings and Transcode Setting. Please verify your settings and try again. Invalid framesize/framrate for this Level. Please lower the Frame Dimensions, Frame Rate or increase the Profile and Level and try again. Medial02 error: 0xc00b0002 Frame dimensions out of bounds
It stops me in my tracks, completely prevents me from outputting from the Render Queue. I can export via H.264 via file>export>quicktime, but that takes for. e. ver.
I really just need to figure out how to get past this error message. I hear you on the quality issues with rendering directly from AE, and I will definitely take that into account for future projects where high quality is a priority. For now, though, speed and getting this damn error to go away are priority #1. Any idea what causes this error and how to stop it?

February 25, 2009 at 8:40 pmyes, if you have CS4, and a size that isn’t a preset to match exactly, then the stretch trick inside AE won’t work. You’d have to use the Adobe media encoder and import a AEP comp file from it, ususally your final comp.

February 25, 2009 at 9:46 pmI still fail to understand what is happening to cause this error in the first place. The size of the original footage = same as the composition settings = the same as the output module = 1280×720. No changes in the frame size from import to editing to output, so why the error? I demand answers, Adobe! Dammit!

July 28, 2009 at 4:31 amThat really sucks, you cant even get a good H264 compression choosing QT, mine crashes everything too. One thing I am doing a lot now is exporting to SWF, i need it to be saved in flash 8 and have an end of action script to make it play once. Im having all sorts of issues with it being stretched to full screen and having bars of white or black in it. Exporting as a QT from AE then taking it into flash is proving time consuming and not to sure if it is worth the job at the moment…
I hope after effects can get a plug in for this as I really dont want to work in flash!!!
Anyone know of any tips for this type of work?

February 22, 2010 at 2:14 amI’ve now stumbled across this error as well.
I’m trying to output via h.264 with square pixels, at 873×480.
I tried the trick posted earlier in this thread of making it a factor of 16, and stretching it to 880×480, but all that did was make it give me the error at the end of the render rather than the beginning (and still no output).

May 30, 2010 at 7:59 pmI’m getting this same error when I try to do an h.264 on a 1024×768. Has anyone solved this problem yet?

May 31, 2010 at 3:54 amThere is a workaround, but don’t blaim me if it doesn’t work.
—–
Simply duplicate a *.vpr video preset file
from…C:-Program Files-AdobeAdobe After Effects CS3-Support Files-Plug-ins-Format-MediaIO-(presets)-system-en_us
open the duplicate in notepad
(example…) change the Data=”1024 to Data=”1000″.Data=”1024″ ID=”1″ Name=”Frame Width [pixels]” Size=”4″ Type=”VDataType_DWORD”Property Data=”576″ ID=”2″ Name=”Frame Height [pixels]
————————-
If you make any new spaces, then AE will probably crash.
All you have do you is make the resolutions the same, then you can change the preset’s other stuff in the render queue.I have tried it in older AE’s and it works perfect!

June 3, 2010 at 12:12 pmGo to render settings, change to H.264 then there’s a button next to it to the right says something like “advanced” or “more options” or something. In there, change the level to 5.0 then make sure your frame rate matches your comp settings. I don’t know what this means or why it works but it does.

Thanks Kati, this tip works!

July 3, 2010 at 3:22 pmHello Dave,
Any chance you could point me in the right direction. If you say AE isn’t great I’m willing to stick my head out of the sand. Say I output from AE an uncompressed AVI, what software should I use to convert this into a good quality H.264 or MPEG4?
