You’ll get much smoother results using + and * and random seeds in expressions because wiggle recalculates all new numbers.

a lot, and I mean a lot of stuff has changed since cs3. If you import cs3 stuff into cs4 or cs5, you’ll run into interpretations, color management, everythings different. For one quick example, to get cs3 and cs4 to look comparable, go to cs4’s project settings-working space-compensate for scene-referred profiles. That did not exist before.

You can smooth out the zoom by using timewarp and precomping that then timestretching out the same number. This will average out the zooming frames nicely. As for backlit, you will want to restore the highlights and bump up the shadows. Curves could maybe work but I also made custom projects for both.

any 10bit or higher 4:4:4 codec that support trillions+ of colors. I recommend cineform 4:4:4 or ProRes 4444, both are good. Also, you can render out image sequences then burn them into mpeg’s if your software supports it or just settle for adding noise or slight blurs to video. Search the cow for “banding” for more detailed instructions.

You will need to either use primatte keyer with plug holes turned up, autotrace, or a procedural keyer if you don’t want to roto. Then those will be setup for a track matte. If you post a screeny, I could get a better idea.
