some people would say you’ll need to roto with mocha then set the transfer mode to screen to let the highlights and reflections through.
that’s about 20 min for every 10 sec of footage depending on how fast you click your mouse.But if the footage isn’t washed out and the car isn’t pure white, you can crank up the saturation channel in color finesse and using a garbage matte, you’ll be able to do a simple secondary color correction in color finesse in an adjustment layer set as screen. Also, if that doesn’t work, you can try my highlight blow out fixer that restores missing highlights and its saturation protect mode can act as a stenciled white track matte which greatly decreases roto time in mocha.

have you tried using the dv artifactor in primatte? Also, when you have color such as red, orange, pink, around greenscreen, it’s a good idea to use garbage mattes, and only use 4:4:4 10 bit such as tiff trillions. Any 8 bit output or render will destroy the pink. Also, I noticed that the background had some noise. I’d definately check the chroma keys in 32bpc mode to see if the alpha channels aren’t flickering.

if you don’t mind a smaller size, sure that works. Also AE has a 4:3 title safe overlay, just stick all your elements within its borders and you’re good to go.

utility-cineon converter -linear to log then simply render out a full dpx/cineon.
It’s up to you what color management you want. Some people like using linear light like in this post. Others stay in hdtv for r3d for simplicity. Others use advanced Lut management.
Remember to select in output module your color management that you want.

Have you ever used dpx files before?
linear 10 bit is a lot smaller than linear 16 bit which is 64 bits total. but log is exponental so is like 1024 bits.

I’m confused, why don’t you just stay with r3d all the way through the pipeline.
Red provides native REDCODE media (R3D) support for Final Cut Pro and Color.
